Have you previously received a grant? Yes If yes, please indicate the year(s): 2025Â
How did you hear about our organization?
Harvest House has been connected to Lakewood Ranch–based philanthropic leaders and community partners, and we were introduced to TLC Women’s Giving Circle through local community engagement and word of mouth within the Sarasota-Manatee nonprofit network.
What do you believe we can provide your organization?
TLC Women’s Giving Circle provides more than financial support, you provide meaningful, community-driven partnership. Your investment allows organizations like Harvest House to respond immediately to urgent needs affecting women and children in our region. Additionally, the visibility and advocacy your members provide helps elevate awareness of families experiencing housing instability and food insecurity in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
What will the grant be used for?
Harvest House is seeking $5,000 to provide bus passes and transportation support for women working toward stability and independence.
Reliable transportation is one of the greatest barriers facing the women we serve — including single mothers, women in recovery, and survivors of trauma. Without access to transportation, women cannot consistently:
Maintain employment
Attend job interviews
Access childcare
Keep medical and therapy appointments
Attend recovery meetings
Comply with court requirements
Each monthly bus pass costs $50 per person.
This request does not include capital improvements or salaries. All funds will go directly toward transportation assistance for women and families in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
Â
Provide the grant amount you are seeking: $5,000.00
Do you provide services to Sarasota and/or Manatee County? Yes
What is the financial impact per individual/program this grant will provide?
At $50 per month per bus pass or equivalent:
Allows Harvest House to support approximately 8–10 women consistently throughout the year, or 20–30 women receiving 2–4 months of support during critical transition periods
Each woman served represents not only individual stability but improved outcomes for her children. Reliable transportation directly increases employment retention, therapy attendance, and successful housing outcomes.
Please provide the estimated number of women, children and families impacted.
20–30 women
40–100 children
Families residing in Sarasota and Manatee Counties
Is there a matching grant? No If yes, indicate donation source: The Flanzer Matching Program provides the only year-round philanthropic matching program in our area of service. We match contributions as low as $5 to as much as $500 a month per donor/household to as many of our partners as you like. The maximum that the Flanzer Trust will match per donor/household to any single agency is $3, 000 per year. Unlike other matching programs, the Flanzer Trust absorbs the full cost of the program. No handling surcharges will be deducted from your donation or the trust’s match donation. For example, for every $1 you donate, your selected charity gets $2 with a maximum match of $500 per month up to $3, 000 per donor/household, per charity, per year. Our goal is to broaden the base by encouraging NEW contributions, although we recognize that some planned giving will be submitted for matching.
May we tour your facility? Yes
