How did you hear about our organization?
I recently read an article about your organization in the Observer and immediately wanted to connect.
What do you believe we can provide your organization?
Support from the TLC Women’s Giving Circle would allow Harbor58 to expand access to life skills education and mentorship for young adults aging out of foster care who often move due to housing, school, or employment changes. Funding will help remove geographic barriers by allowing us to continue engaging youth virtually and bring in guest speakers who are not local.
Harbor58 partners with a local church for meeting space but operates as a community-based nonprofit. All services are open to youth of all backgrounds with no religious participation required.
What will the grant be used for?
Grant funds will be applied toward the purchase of hybrid meeting technology, including a 360-degree conference camera and audio equipment, to support virtual and hybrid programming. This will allow Harbor58 to host remote guest speakers with lived experience in foster care, financial stability, and career development, expand career exploration opportunities, and offer financial literacy and life skills classes in a hybrid format.
This technology will also ensure youth who relocate can continue participating in programming without losing access to mentorship and education.

Do you provide services to Sarasota and/or Manatee County? Yes
What is the financial impact per individual/program this grant will provide?
This technology will support approximately 16 young adults who consistently participate in Harbor58 programming, with the capacity to serve additional youth as programs expand. A $1,000 investment represents an estimated $60–65 per participant annually, providing continued access to financial literacy education, mentorship, and guest-led workshops even when youth relocate or cannot attend in person.
Please provide the estimated number of women, children and families impacted.
This project will directly support approximately 16–20 young adults aging out of foster care in Sarasota and Manatee Counties over the next year, with the ability to serve additional participants as virtual access increases.

Anything else you would like to share with us?
Harbor58 is committed to providing consistent, practical support to young adults aging out of foster care as they navigate education, employment, and independent living. This technology investment will help ensure youth do not lose access to mentorship and life skills programming simply because life circumstances require them to relocate. We are grateful for the TLC Women’s Giving Circle’s investment in strengthening local organizations and expanding opportunity for young people in our community.
