How did you hear about our organization?

HOPE is grateful for its longstanding partnership with The Lake Club Women’s Giving Circle. This meaningful relationship began through a former HOPE Board Member who resided in The Lake Club community and has since grown into a strong network of residents who are dedicated advocates and generous supporters of our mission to serve survivors of domestic violence and their children. We are truly appreciative of the connection and steadfast support provided by The Lake Club Women’s Giving Circle. Your continued generosity strengthens our ability to help provide safety, healing, and hope to vulnerable families throughout our community.

What do you believe we can provide your organization?

HOPE respectfully seeks the support of The Lake Club Women’s Giving Circle to provide critical nutrition and essential supplies for residents in our Emergency Safe Shelter. With this funding, we can ensure that each resident receives healthy meals and necessary personal care items, and help to create a stable and secure environment during their time of crisis. Beyond meeting immediate needs, this support empowers survivors of domestic violence to take meaningful steps toward self-sufficiency, resilience, and long-term healing. Your investment will directly transform lives, offering safety, dignity, and hope to families at their most vulnerable.

What will the grant be used for?

Battered women and children deserve sanctuary when their home is no longer a safe place, and they need your support to make that possible. HOPE is Manatee County’s only State-certified domestic violence service provider and operates an Emergency Safe Shelter. HOPE offers 24-hour HelpLine/ChatLine as well as comprehensive counseling and advocacy. However, the greatest demand for assistance currently comes from those fleeing their homes due to violence inflicted upon them and their children by an intimate partner.
Funds from The Lake Club Women’s Giving Circle will provide nutritious meals and essential supplies for shelter residents. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, HOPE provided meals and supplies to 272 individuals staying at HOPE’s Emergency Safe Shelter.

Do you provide services to Sarasota and/or Manatee County? Yes

What is the financial impact per individual/program this grant will provide?

HOPE’s Shelter has budgeted $33,203 this year to provide food and supplies for residents. During the 2024–2025 fiscal year, the shelter served 14,465 meals to 272 adults and children. Through bulk purchasing and community food drives, we keep costs low, averaging just $110 per resident for their entire stay for the 300 residents we expect to shelter. The greatest need, however, remains funding for perishables, fresh items, and other essential supplies that are not typically donated.

Please provide the estimated number of women, children and families impacted.
