What do you believe we can provide your organization?
We believe The Lake Club Women’s Giving Circle can provide our organization with various resources including scholarships for children to attend our before/after school program, volunteers for various events and/or activities we hold at our community center, mentors for our Reading Program and/or homework room.
What will the grant be used for?
United Community Centers provides B.A.S.E.+ (Before-After School & Summer Enrichment Plus) programming for economically disadvantaged, at-risk youth in grades K-8. Our after-school program includes a Reading Recovery and Leveled Literacy Intervention Program for students in grades K-3 that are below grade level in reading. Grant funds will provide scholarships to help 3 Reading Recovery students attend after-school programming for one full school year.

A grant of $2,340 will support 3 students at $780 per student.

Our Reading Program currently has 30 students enrolled. This grant would directly serve 3 students from families of 3 or more bringing the estimated total to at least 9 directly served.
