How did you hear about our organization?

Through local community and philanthropic networks in the Sarasota and Manatee County area.

What do you believe we can provide your organization?

The Lake Club Women’s Giving Circle can provide direct, local impact for families across Manatee and Sarasota Counties.

As our program has grown, we have seen that while basic baby items meet immediate needs, they do not always sustain long-term engagement. We currently offer larger items such as car seats, pack-n-plays, and strollers, and have seen how effective these are in encouraging continued participation.

To build on this success, we are expanding our model to include additional high-value items, such as bouncers, play mats, and other developmental supports, as milestone incentives within our Earn While You Learn program.

These items are earned through continued participation in parenting education, counseling, and support services, encouraging families to stay engaged longer and complete more of the program over time. Longer engagement allows parents to build stronger skills, increase confidence, and create safer, more stable environments for their children.

Your support would make this strategy possible, providing not only essential baby items, but also the structure and motivation needed for lasting impact.

Your members will be able to clearly see the difference their giving makes through both the items provided and the families who remain engaged and growing through the program.

What will the grant be used for?

We are requesting $5,000 to fund high-value baby items used as milestone incentives within our Earn While You Learn (EWYL) program.

High-value baby items are used within our program as structured incentives tied to key milestones in parenting education.

Through experience, we have found that these types of items significantly increase continued participation, helping families stay engaged beyond initial visits and complete more of the program.

By expanding the range of these incentives, we are strengthening a model that not only meets tangible needs, but also drives deeper engagement, learning, and long-term stability for the families we serve.

Clients earn points by completing parenting classes, counseling sessions, and life-skills education. Smaller items support immediate needs early in the program, while high-value items are positioned as mid-to-late stage incentives that motivate clients to stay engaged over time.

This structure directly increases program retention, leads to more completed educational sessions, and results in stronger outcomes for both parents and children.

With 333 clients served last year and continued growth expected, demand for these essential, high-cost items continues to rise. Many families we serve cannot afford them on their own, yet they play a critical role in both infant safety and early development.

Items such as car seats and pack-n-plays provide safe transportation and sleep environments, reducing risk of injury and unsafe sleep practices. High chairs support proper feeding routines and nutrition, while bouncers and activity seats encourage early motor development, sensory engagement, and parent-child interaction.

Access to these items helps parents establish safe, structured, and developmentally supportive environments during the earliest stages of a child’s life, a time that is foundational for long-term health and well-being.

This grant will fund high-value baby items used as program incentives, including:
-Car seats and pack-n-plays for safety and safe sleep
-High chairs and feeding supplies to support feeding and routine development
-Bouncers, play mats and activity seats to encourage early motor and sensory development

These items will be earned through client milestones and program participation, directly supporting approximately 40 to 60 families while strengthening long-term engagement in our programs.

Provide the grant amount you are seeking: $5,000.00

Do you provide services to Sarasota and/or Manatee County? Yes

What is the financial impact per individual/program this grant will provide?

This grant will directly support approximately 40 to 60 families in Manatee and Sarasota Counties through our Earn While You Learn (EWYL) program. With a $5,000 investment, this funding will provide an estimated $80 to $125 in essential baby items per family, depending on participation and inventory needs.

Each high-value item funded through this grant represents a meaningful financial barrier for the families we serve, many of whom would otherwise go without safe sleep spaces, proper feeding equipment, or developmentally supportive tools.

What makes this investment effective is how it is delivered. These items are earned through consistent participation in parenting education, counseling, and life-skills sessions, requiring clients to reach multiple milestones over time.

Because of this structure, the impact extends beyond the item itself. Each investment helps increase program retention, ensures more educational sessions are completed, and supports parents in building the skills and confidence needed to create safe, stable home environments.
In this way, every dollar provides both immediate, tangible support and long-term impact for families and their children.

Please provide the estimated number of women, children and families impacted.

Approximately 40 to 60 families, representing women, infants, and young children in Manatee and Sarasota counties, will be directly served through this project.

Anything else you would like to share with us?

In the past year, Care Net Manasota served 333 unique clients, with 205 enrolled in ongoing parenting education programs.

Our model is designed to move clients from initial services into long-term support, with nearly all education participants engaging in our Earn While You Learn Boutique as part of their journey.

What makes this program effective is not just the resources provided, but how they are used.

By structuring high-value baby items as earned milestones, we are able to increase retention, encourage consistent participation, and ensure more educational sessions are completed. This leads to stronger parenting confidence, safer home environments, and better outcomes for children.

As we expand outreach in Manatee, Sarasota, and Lakewood Ranch areas, including through our mobile services, we anticipate reaching more families who need both practical support and ongoing guidance. This funding will help ensure those families stay engaged long enough to experience lasting change.

This is a highly tangible and measurable opportunity to support local families, where the impact can be clearly seen through both the items provided and the growth of the families who earn them.
