How did you hear about our organization?

We are familiar with The Lake Club through their previous grant support of SPARCC, as well as through many of our supporters who live in the community.

What do you believe we can provide your organization?

The Lake Club can provide meaningful community partnership and philanthropic support that helps SPARCC continue serving survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Sarasota County. Support from The Lake Club helps ensure survivors and their children have access to safe shelter, advocacy, and critical resources as they rebuild their lives.

What will the grant be used for?

We are requesting support for SPARCC’s Emergency Shelter. The shelter operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing safe housing and wraparound services including crisis counseling, safety planning, legal advocacy, case management, therapy services, children’s programming, transportation, basic needs such as food and clothing, and even a pet kennel to ensure no one is left behind. Survivors can access the shelter through our 24-hour hotline, outreach offices, or referrals from law enforcement, hospitals, or courts. Trained staff are on site at all times to ensure survivors are met with compassion and trauma‑informed care.

If awarded, the grant funds will be used to directly support the daily operations of SPARCC’s Emergency Shelter, ensuring uninterrupted access to life saving services for survivors of domestic violence and their children. Grant funds will help sustain the core resources necessary to operate a safe, trauma informed shelter environment, including staffing, essential supplies, and survivor support services.
