How did you hear about our organization?
Originally, Lisa Keverian-Press introduced us to this wonderful group of women, and since then several members of your organization have come to experience Pines firsthand. We’ve been grateful to host a a group for a tour of our campus, and some also joined us in volunteering at our Valentine Card Making event, creating heartfelt cards that were shared with our residents from the generous donors and volunteers who support Pines.
Cinda Krouck, Margie Meyer, Delores Sudhop, Teresa White, Jennifer Alokeh, Maria Cutie, and Sheila Lau have each had the opportunity to visit and see the Pines community in action. It has been such a pleasure to welcome them and share the work happening here every day.
What do you believe we can provide your organization?
Support from your organization would help strengthen the care and sense of community that make Pines of Sarasota such a special place for the seniors who live here. As a nonprofit senior living community, we are deeply grateful for partners who share a commitment to compassion and dignity, especially for residents who have outlived their financial resources.
A grant like this helps create moments of comfort, connection, and reassurance for our residents, including those living with memory loss and the veterans who have served our country. Your partnership would help ensure that every person at Pines continues to be surrounded by kindness, respect, and the quality care they deserve.
What will the grant be used for?
In recent years, Pines of Sarasota has experienced a growing financial gap in our Assisted Living community. Just a few short years ago, there was little to no shortfall. Today, however, the difference between the cost of providing high-quality care and the resources available to many residents has created an annual shortfall of more than $100,000 just at the Assisted Living Facility (ALF). Pines of Sarasota Foundation is requesting support for The ALF Mission Fund, which ensures that every resident at the Pines ALF can continue to receive care with dignity, regardless of financial circumstance.
Today, approximately 50% of our Assisted Living residents rely on financial assistance to remain in the place they call home. While many depend on Medicaid or other limited resources, these sources do not fully cover the true cost of providing the high-quality care and supportive environment that Pines is committed to delivering.

What is the financial impact per individual/program this grant will provide?
Support from this grant would help close that gap by funding one Assisted Living resident for an entire year, ensuring they can continue to live in a beautiful, safe home surrounded by compassionate caregivers and a supportive community.
For the individual resident this grant supports, the impact is profound: it provides stability, dignity, and the peace of mind that they will continue to receive the care and community they need, even after their financial resources have been exhausted.
Please provide the estimated number of women, children and families impacted.
This project will directly benefit approximately 30 individuals in Sarasota County, including residents, resident families, children, and staff who participate in and support daily life at Pines of Sarasota.

Anything else you would like to share with us?
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to apply for this grant once again. Your past support has been instrumental in enhancing the quality of life for our Skilled Nursing residents, and we have seen firsthand the positive outcomes of that partnership. This year, we are eager to extend that same level of care and innovation to our Assisted Living (ALF) residents. We hope you will join us in this new chapter as we work to ensure every senior in our community, regardless of their level of care, has access to the resources they deserve.
