TLC Women’s Giving Circle can provide Truly Valued with more than funding—it offers a powerful network of community-minded women who bring philanthropy, volunteer service, professional expertise, and advocacy to organizations working to strengthen women, youth, and families in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
What will the grant be used for?
The grant will be used to support Truly Valued’s youth and family empowerment programs, which focus on strengthening literacy, leadership, and social-emotional wellness for youth in our community. Funding will help provide program materials, educational supplies, and enrichment activities for initiatives such as Mission Possible, our literacy-based summer camp, as well as family engagement workshops and youth leadership development sessions. The grant will also support the creation of resource kits and hands-on learning experiences that help students build confidence, improve reading skills, and develop positive coping and life skills. Through this support, Truly Valued will be able to expand access to programs that equip youth and families with the tools they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Based on Truly Valued’s recent program budgets and kit distributions, the financial impact per individual/program for this grant can be outlined as follows:
Youth Kits / Camp Participants (Mission Possible):
Each participant receives a kit including a journal, fidget tool, healthy snack, and affirmation/encouragement cards in a drawstring bag. The cost per kit is approximately $20–$30, providing tangible resources that enhance learning, social-emotional skills, and confidence.
Program Participation (Workshops & Camps):
With grant support, each child’s access to structured literacy and enrichment activities (reading challenges, creative projects, and group sessions) is valued at $50–$75 per participant, covering materials, staffing, and program logistics.
Family & Caregiver Engagement Programs:
Funding supports workshops and activities for caregivers, with a per-person impact of approximately $30–$40, including materials, educational content, and facilitation.
Summary: The grant stretches across programs to provide $20–$75 of direct impact per individual, depending on the type of program or resource delivered, ensuring that every dollar contributes to meaningful growth, skill-building, and family support.

Families (households served collectively): ~75–100 families will benefit indirectly through youth participation, family engagement activities, and resource kits.
