How did you hear about our organization?
I became aware of The Lake Club Women’s Giving Circle at local events and through other fundraising professionals in the Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch areas. Working in nonprofit development as a Grants & Contracts Specialist, I’ve admired how you support women, children, and families, not just with funding, but by becoming involved in the organizations that you support. The way you focus on real, community-level change and work together fits right in with what we value at The Salvation Army Sarasota County.
What do you believe we can provide your organization?
The Salvation Army truly appreciates your dedication to supporting women, children, and families. The difference you make in our community inspires us, and with your partnership, we can:
• Collaborate on targeted initiatives such as enrichment programs for children and families.
• Provide hands-on volunteer opportunities for your members to connect with those we serve, making a personal impact in their lives.
• Assist us in purchasing iPads and secure stands for our youth program at the Sarasota Corps. These devices will help streamline our youth sign-in procedures and support educational and creative activities.
What will the grant be used for?
This grant will support the purchase of three iPads and secure tablet stands for The Salvation Army Sarasota Corps youth program on Tuttle Avenue. These tools will streamline youth sign-in procedures, securely capture emergency contact information, and support educational and creative activities, while ensuring devices are safely housed and accessible in a high-traffic environment.
Current programming serves approximately 25 youth and continues to grow, with Art & Music on Tuesday evenings and recreational gym activities on Friday evenings. We are expanding our offerings to include drama, dance, and a family game night, creating additional opportunities for low-income youth and their families to engage in a safe, supportive environment. All programs are offered free of charge and are open to all members of the community, regardless of background, with no religious participation required. Meals are often provided to ensure participants’ basic needs are met.
Your investment will directly enhance program efficiency, strengthen participant safety, and support the continued growth of a program that provides enriching, inclusive experiences for children and families throughout the community.

Anything else you would like to share with us?
In addition to youth programming, the Sarasota Corps serves as a hub for support to low- and moderate-income (LMI) families through The Salvation Army’s Pathway of Hope initiative. This program provides individualized case management, goal setting, and supportive services to help families achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency. By strengthening the overall well-being of families, we are better able to support the children who participate in our programs and create lasting impact across the community.
We are grateful for your consideration and the opportunity to partner in serving local children and families.
