How did you hear about our organization?
Through community networking within Sarasota philanthropic circles and conversations with local leaders who support youth-focused and women-led nonprofit initiatives.
What do you believe we can provide your organization?
The Lake Club Women’s Giving Circle represents more than funding; it represents collective leadership, mentorship, and community partnership. Your support would provide catalytic investment to expand access to identity-affirming, mentorship-driven programming for youth in Sarasota County.
Beyond financial support, your network of engaged women leaders can amplify LMH’s mission, provide volunteer engagement opportunities, strengthen community visibility, and deepen sustainability through relationship-building and advocacy.
What will the grant be used for?
The grant will directly fund program delivery for Create with Ro, LMH’s culturally responsive STEAM and identity-based learning program, serving students at Innovation Academy SRQ (Title 1, IB candidate charter school).
Funds will support:
· Instructional program delivery by the Founder/Executive Director
· Curriculum materials directly tied to student “About Me” history books
· STEAM-integrated project supplies
· Student graduation celebration and showcase event
· Evaluation tools to measure executive function, self-esteem, and leadership growth
Importantly, this funding supports instruction and youth engagement, including the professionals teaching, mentoring, and guiding students through the program experience.
Provide the grant amount you are seeking: $5,000.00
Do you provide services to Sarasota and/or Manatee County? Yes
What is the financial impact per individual/program this grant will provide?
A $5,000 grant supporting 16 students equates to approximately $300 per student for a full program cycle.
This investment covers structured instruction, STEAM-integrated curriculum, mentorship, materials, evaluation tools, and a culminating graduation showcase event where students present their personalized history books to families and community members.
Because LMH’s model encourages family participation, cross-classroom collaboration, and public celebration of student work, the true impact extends beyond the individual student to parents, siblings, and school communities, creating a ripple effect of engagement and belonging.
Please provide the estimated number of women, children and families impacted.
· 16 children (direct program participants)
· 16 families (through family engagement, book interviews, and graduation participation)
· Approximately 75 total individuals impacted when accounting for parents, guardians, siblings, and extended family participation in the student graduation showcase and storytelling process
While 16 students are directly funded through this grant, LMH programming intentionally engages families and school communities, extending measurable impact beyond a fixed enrollment number.
