Mission Statement
Mothers Helping Mothers empowers families through essential support, resource connections, and compassionate guidance so that no family has to navigate hardship alone.
How did you hear about our organization?
MHM learned about The Lake Club Women’s Charitable Foundation through its longstanding community presence and has since built a meaningful relationship through prior grant awards, community events, facility tours, and volunteer engagement.
What do you believe we can provide your organization?
TLC Women’s Charitable Foundation can help ensure local babies begin life with the essential items they need to sleep safely, travel safely, and be cared for during the critical first weeks and months. A $5,000 grant would help MHM provide car seats, safe-sleep equipment, diapers, wipes, newborn essentials, and other immediate supports through Welcome to the World while keeping these resources free to families experiencing financial hardship. The Foundation’s partnership also extends beyond supplies: it helps connect caregivers to MHM’s resource navigation, education, coaching, and compassionate guidance so families have a trusted place to turn as needs arise. MHM would welcome members for a facility tour, group volunteer project, or baby-supply drive.
What will the grant be used for?
Mothers Helping Mothers requests $5,000 for Welcome to the World, which supports expectant parents and families with newborns during pregnancy and a baby’s earliest months. The program provides essential infant items, safety-focused education, and connections to ongoing support so families can meet immediate needs without having to navigate hardship alone.
Grant funds will be restricted to direct Welcome to the World program supplies and allocated flexibly based on documented family needs and product availability. Eligible purchases may include convertible car seats at approximately $130 each, portable baby beds or comparable safe-sleep items at approximately $75 each, newborn kits at an average cost of approximately $25 each, diapers and wipes, formula and feeding supplies, breast pumps, baby clothing, hygiene items, and other essential infant safety and care supplies.
Because every family’s circumstances are different, MHM does not use a one-size-fits-all package. One family may urgently need a safe car seat, while another may need a safe place for their baby to sleep, a newborn kit, diapers, feeding supplies, or a combination of several items. This flexibility allows MHM to use the $5,000 where it will have the greatest immediate impact while ensuring all funded items are provided free of charge based on documented need and product availability.

Please provide the estimated number of women, children and families impacted.
Welcome to the World served 536 new infant families in 2025. MHM conservatively projects serving approximately 550 newborns and their families in 2027.
