How did you hear about our organization?
We learned about the Lake Club Women’s Giving Circle opportunity through Nancy LePain, Grant Chair. Casey Baynes, our Founder & Executive Director, is deeply involved in the Lakewood Ranch Community and has since connected with several members of the organization, and Nancy encouraged us to apply for this funding opportunity.
What do you believe we can provide your organization?
We believe the Lake Club Women’s Giving Circle can provide both meaningful financial support and a valued community partnership. Through this grant opportunity, funding would directly support a critical need within our local programming for children and families facing serious illness. Beyond funding, we see tremendous value in building a long-term relationship with an organization that shares our commitment to supporting local women, children, and families. We appreciate the potential for volunteer engagement, community awareness, and collaboration on service opportunities that further strengthen the impact we can make together.
What will the grant be used for?
The requested grant will support Casey Cares Foundation’s Family Festivities Program by providing Movie & Pizza Night Packages to local children with critical illnesses and their families in Manatee and Sarasota counties. As one of Casey Cares’ most frequently delivered programs, these packages are designed to create moments of comfort, connection, and normalcy for families navigating the challenges of serious childhood illness.
Each package includes cozy pajamas for the child diagnosed with a critical illness and their siblings, gift cards for a family movie night and pizza delivery, and, when needed, additional grocery assistance to help ease financial strain. While medical treatment often disrupts routines and limits opportunities for family recreation, these packages allow families to enjoy a special evening together in the comfort of their own home.
Support from The Lake Club Women’s Charitable Foundation will help ensure local families facing childhood illness can experience meaningful opportunities for togetherness, stress relief, and positive family memories during an otherwise difficult time. By supporting this program, the Foundation will help bring joy, comfort, and connection to families when they need it most.

What is the financial impact per individual/program this grant will provide?
The requested grant of $2,625 will fund 25 Movie & Pizza Night Packages for local families enrolled in Casey Cares programs, at an average cost of $105 per package.
Each package includes:
• $35 in movie streaming and pizza gift cards to provide an entertaining family night in, along with a shared meal.
• $40 in grocery assistance to help offset household expenses during a child’s treatment.
• $30 in cozy pajamas for the child with a critical illness and their siblings (an average of two pairs per package).

Casey Cares estimates that 25 families, representing approximately 100 individuals, will be directly served through this project in Sarasota and Manatee counties. While the Movie & Pizza Night Packages are distributed to the child diagnosed with a critical illness and their siblings, the program is intentionally designed to engage and benefit the entire family. Based on an average household size of four, the grant-funded packages will impact approximately 100 local children and caregivers by providing an opportunity to spend quality time together, reduce stress, and create positive family memories during a challenging period of illness and treatment.

We welcome opportunities for volunteer engagement, community awareness initiatives, and collaborative service projects that allow members of The Lake Club Women’s Charitable Foundation to have a hands-on connection to the families they are helping.
