How did you hear about our organization?

We learned about The Lake Club Women’s Charitable Foundation while researching local philanthropic partners committed to improving the lives of children and families throughout Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Your commitment to community-centered giving and meaningful local impact aligns closely with the Taggart Family Foundation’s mission to expand opportunities for youth and help them reach their full academic, personal, and professional potential.

What do you believe we can provide your organization?

We believe The Lake Club Women’s Charitable Foundation can help us translate our shared commitment to children’s well-being into tangible, lasting outcomes for students in Manatee County. Through an investment in our Future Leaders Academy, your Foundation can help ensure that students continue to have access to enriching educational experiences, practical life skills, creative exploration, and the resources necessary to build confidence and prepare for future success.

We would also welcome opportunities to engage with your members through volunteer service, educational resource drives, or other forms of community partnership that extend the impact of your generosity beyond the grant itself. We see this as an opportunity to work together to strengthen the support systems surrounding local children and families.

What will the grant be used for?

The requested grant will support direct educational and enrichment resources for the Taggart Family Foundation’s Future Leaders Academy, an after-school initiative currently serving students in grades 5–8 at Lincoln Memorial Middle School in Palmetto, Florida.

Funding will provide students with amplified experience which affords greater opportunities to hands-on learning materials and supplies for academic enrichment, financial literacy, STEAM and creative arts activities, social-emotional learning, and leadership development. These resources will enable students to practice real-world skills, explore their interests, strengthen problem-solving abilities, and develop the confidence and decision-making skills needed to navigate adolescence and prepare for adulthood.

Specifically, grant funds will be directed toward student workbooks and learning materials, financial literacy activity kits, creative and technology-based project supplies, wellness and leadership activity resources, and individual student learning kits.

By investing directly in the materials and experiences students use, this grant will help remove barriers to participation and expand access to interactive, engaging and meaningful learning opportunities.

Provide the grant amount you are seeking: $10,000.00

Do you provide services to Sarasota and/or Manatee County? Yes

What is the financial impact per individual/program this grant will provide?

We are seeking $10,000 to support direct program expenses for approximately 80 students participating in our youth enrichment programming. This represents an estimated grant-funded investment of approximately $125.00 per student.

Funding will help provide educational materials, hands-on learning resources, financial literacy instruction, creative and technology-based enrichment, and instructional support. By investing in these direct program needs, the Foundation can help us stretch available resources and provide meaningful learning opportunities to students who may otherwise have limited access to these experiences.

Please provide the estimated number of women, children and families impacted.

We estimate that at least 80 children in Manatee County will directly benefit from this project through participation in the Taggart Family Foundation’s Future Leaders Academy, based on current attendance metrics. We anticipate this number will continue to grow as the fall sports season concludes and additional families seek reliable, enriching after-school opportunities for their children.

Through the Future Leaders Academy, students gain access to meaningful educational and developmental experiences that extend beyond the traditional school day. Programming emphasizes academic enrichment, financial literacy, STEAM and creative exploration, social-emotional wellness, leadership development, and practical life skills. These experiences help students build confidence, strengthen decision-making abilities, discover new interests, and develop the foundational skills necessary for future academic and personal success. Families, in turn, benefit from knowing their children have access to a structured, supportive environment that encourages continued learning and positive development.

An investment in the Future Leaders Academy represents an investment in the long-term well-being and potential of Manatee County’s youth. By expanding access to these resources during a critical stage of development, the Taggart Family Foundation seeks to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate future challenges, pursue opportunities, and become engaged, capable leaders in their communities.
