Embracing Our Differences – BookPrep Workshop
October 20 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Organization Name: Embracing Our Differences, Inc.
Event: Embracing Our Differences – BookPrep Workshop
On October 20th, we will be preparing books for school children (pre-K -3rd grade) at the EOD Offices. These books will be read to students in participating classrooms throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties by EOD volunteers on Nov 17th. In partnership with Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, Embracing our Differences conducts “Bucket Fillers Reading days” with pre-selected age appropriate books. These reading days celebrate literacy through a wide variety of books that focus on themes of inclusion, kindness, and respect; stimulating conversation about what we share and what makes us unique. This is a wonderful activity where we all have a chance to enjoy giving back and being together. We may even be surprised when one of our members chooses to read aloud the books we are prepping! We need 20 volunteers so please step up if you are available and have an interest.
