The TLCWGC grant allowed HOPE to provide 1286 meals for 21 children and their 19 parents who resided in our Emergency Safe Shelter in the month of June 2025.
Was there an unexpected benefit or a special outcome from this grant that you would like to share? Yes
If yes, please explain:
Ensuring children are well fed while residing in shelter provides them to opportunity to focus on healing from the trauma that brought them to the shelter. Children in domestic violence families often live in continuous fear and have not learned that it is not their fault. Once at shelter, HOPE provides them with the essentials of everyday living that we take for granted and they may have never experienced. This may be the only way for them to feel safe, to learn how to keep themselves safe at home and to have the chance to just be a kid.
