How was the money used?
The funds from this grant, combined with support from another donor, have made it possible to provide critical mental health services to families who otherwise could not access them. With your $2,500 contribution and an additional $10,000 grant, we have invested $2,810 so far to provide 24 therapy sessions for eight parents.
The impact of this investment is already evident in the lives of these women and reverberates to their children, who have been deeply affected by their parents’ mental health challenges. These counseling sessions help parents manage stress, address trauma, strengthen relationships, and improve overall family well-being. Each session is integrated into the participant’s Parenting Support Plan, ensuring that as parents heal and grow, they are simultaneously developing the skills to be more confident, nurturing caregivers.
For example, one mother, a survivor of domestic violence, has been rediscovering her identity, building confidence, and feeling safer in her own skin—transformations that are already benefiting her children as well.
This collective effort is especially needed, as the demand for counseling is already exceeding our initial estimates. The remaining funds will continue to provide additional sessions, expanding access to critical mental health care for more families. Your support, alongside that of other donors, is creating lasting, meaningful change in the lives of parents and children in our community.
