How was the money used?
Because of the generosity of The Lake Club Women’s Giving Circle, we were able to provide 250 meals to our vulnerable neighbors who receive our meal service program in the zip code area 34240. Funds were used between June and August of 2025. You helped deliver 278 meals, specifically for the clients who qualify for our meals at $4 or less due to their household income.
Additionally, support from The Lake Club Women’s Giving Circle helped reduce isolation and malnutrition in our community. Program participants receive our heart-healthy meals and interact with our volunteers every day. The More Than a Meal model provides a wellness check which improves overall mental health and well-being, while providing a safety net and peace of mind for families that don’t live near their loved ones.

How many people were impacted by this grant?
Our goal was to serve 20 clients in the 2025 fiscal year in the 34240 zip code area to expand the reach of our services from January to August. Because of your support, we are proud to announce that we have reached 20 clients in this zip code area. From June to August the Lake Club Women’s Giving Circle has served 8 clients who receive our meals at a rate of $4 or less based on their household income.
Please indicate the number of women, children, and/or families residing in Sarasota and/or Manatee County who were directly impacted by this grant.
All of our clients reside in Sarasota Community, however, to qualify for our services they must be above the age of 60 or have a medical condition that makes preparing their own meals difficult.
