How was the money used?
The grant funds were used to purchase food in bulk from our partners at Sysco Southwest Fl and at local warehouse stores (Sam’s, Costco). This provides more meals for more students while continuing to be good stewards of the financial gift.
Was there an unexpected benefit or a special outcome from this grant that you would like to share? Yes
If yes, please explain:
Through receiving this grant, not only did we feed a large number of students, we gained awareness throughout our community. All social media presence educates community leaders to join the fight to end childhood hunger in Manatee County.
How many people were impacted by this grant?
Approximately 1600
