Were the funds spent with a year of grant receipt? Yes
If no, please explain why not below:
How was the money used?
Funds were used for the Blue Butterfly Family Grief Program. Blue Butterfly is an evidence-based, therapeutic program that supports children, ages 5 to 18, who have experienced the death of a special person in their lives. Children were served in peer support groups where they received developmentally appropriate grief counseling. Simultaneously, their caregivers participated in group sessions to learn tools for parenting their grieving child while they cope with their own grief.
The majority of children who complete the program reported feeling less alone and isolated, having less feelings of self-harm, and their caregivers reported an improvement in the child’s grades.
Your support ensures these programs remain free to anyone in our community who needs them.

Comments:
We are grateful for the Lake Women’s Club investment in Blue Butterfly and your continued partnership. We would like to share a story with you to demonstrate the full impact of your support:
“Blue Butterfly saved our family. When our oldest son, Matthew, was killed in a car accident we knew we needed counseling. We wanted to ensure our two children had the skills they needed to cope with this enormous loss, especially when we were also grieving and could not always give them what they needed as they processed their grief. At Blue Butterfly, they were able to share their experiences with children their own age and know they were not alone in their feelings. Now, our children are more empathetic, mentally healthy, and emotionally mature,” Dan & Rebecca, Blue Butterfly parents.
Would a representative from your organization be willing to speak to our group about the impact of your grant? Yes
